Announcing a new category at The Scary Story: Free Horror Ebooks
My current horror release, “Thorns In Dark Places” is not free at this time. However, many other horror ebooks are ready for download right now at no cost. Seriously, whether you’re after a chilling ghost story, a sexy vampire romance, a supernatural tale that makes your skin crawl or a haunted house narrative that makes rethink buying a home, it’s out there – and these ebooks are often free. The new blog category Free Horror Ebooks aims to highlight these horror writers and their books.
What’s the point?
It’s pretty simple. I am forever indebted to the people who have helped me out the last few years. Folks have given me a generous amount of their reading time and other writers have shared tips and techniques to nudge my writing career along. I’ve been on the receiving end of good fortune for a long time and now that I’ve finally got a book for sale, I’m enjoying steady sales. Others aren’t so fortunate and it’s not because they’ve written bad books. Honestly, I’ve run across some horror ebooks that have blown me away. These writers deserve a shot at your reading time and I’d like to help those brave scribes connect with more readers.
In other cases, I’m going to highlight a horror book that simply made my skin crawl. (It takes a bit to do this to me – believe me.) These might be horror ebooks that you’re already familiar with or from horror writers that you’ve already heard of. If so, it might be a good chance to pick up a new release. If the book or the writer is new to you, that’s all the better. In any case the ebook will still be free. So check back tomorrow for the first free horror ebook featured: The Turtle Boy by Kealan Patrick Burke.
Important Note 1: Right now the Free Horror Ebook category will only feature books available on for Amazon Kindle. I’m most familiar with Amazon and that’s where I’m concentrating my attention.
Important Note 2: I’ll still post horror story research and updates about my own work from time to time, (probably as haphazardly as I do now). But the vast majority of my blogging efforts will be on other writers and the free horror available for you. In other words, we’re all going to scare the hell out of you.
Don’t forget to join the mailing list for your free copy of, “So Many Thorns,” a behind-the-scenes look at my novella, “Thorns In Dark Places.”
